At K & M we provide a range of professional building services tailored to suit the individual needs of your loft conversion or extension project.
After a survey, a qualified architect (loft specialist) prepares full plans and structural calculations, taking into consideration your loft conversion or extension requirements.
Not all loft conversions or extensions require permission, but they do require building regulations approval. At K & M Lofts and Extensions, we will submit all the necessary paperwork.
We use approved scaffolding firms complying with current health & safety regulations.
A crane shall be used to lift steelwork (RSJ's) into position via access in the roof, also lifting the materials onto the loading bay, so the whole process is efficient.
Only fully qualified electricians, plumbers, plasterers, roofers & carpenters will work on your project. An onsite foreman ensures your conversion is carried out as instructed.
Where possible, we will try to match the existing decor of the property.
We are fully insured and a copy of our certificate is available on request.
We always recommend that you consult your neighbour before starting or planning works so that a official notice from a party wall surveyor does not come as too much of a shock. Remember it is your responsibility to serve the notices and advise neighbours and not the local authorities.

Kevin and his team were very tidy and cleaned up everyday and always promptly called back if not available. He even repaired brickwork at the front and back of the house without even being asked! I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
In addition to being extremely professional, he is very pleasant and helpful; also he cleans and tidies up after he finishes work every day and, while, always grateful for a cup of coffee (he needs it - this man does not stop to eat during the day) he will make it himself and even wash up afterwards. This may sound trivial, but is an indication of Kevin's attitude and approach. No hesitation about recommending him.
Kevin was subcontracted to build our loft conversion. We've been very pleased with the quality of his work and attention to detail. Kevin was always on time and managed to keep a jovial and can do attitude. He clearly takes pride in his work.

The quality of their workmanship and design means we have a living space far more attractive than we'd ever hoped for - and a beautiful bedroom for our young son. It could have been a nightmare having builders in with a very young baby around, but they were considerate and careful and made the whole process as easy as possible. We had our loft converted by Kevin and Michael last year and are really pleased with the extra bedroom we now have. All of our guests who sleep up there have commented on how lovely and cosy it is. Both Kevin and Michael are reliable. They turned up on time each morning, worked exceptionally hard through the day and left the house spotless when they left every evening.
They are a joy to have round the house, polite and very tidy, they cleared up so well at the end of every day, for which, with my 3 young children in my house, I was extremely grateful. My neighbours commented on how lucky we were to find them! I would not hesitate to recommend them and have to 3 of my friends. Most importantly for me, was their cheerful 'can do' attitude to any problems and a real pride in their work. A big thank you from all my family.
The schedules they set were tight, but every deadline was met; the quality of the work was top notch; the pricing very reasonable and the after-sales service brilliant: he's been back a couple of times to help with tiny little glitches and has always been happy to do so. Unlike 90% of workmen I've dealt with over the years, Kevin and Michael are 110% reliable, polite, clean, professional and I cannot recommend them enough.
